About us
Fenix Finland ry is a non-profit organization offering free mental health and psychosocial support to immigrants facing challenging life situations in Finland. We focus on promoting mental well-being during times of crisis. Our operations are built on the voluntary work of mental health and social work professionals, conducted in two languages: Ukrainian and Russian. We provide a wide range of support, both individual and group-based, aimed at maintaining mental well-being, adapting to new life circumstances, and integrating into Finnish society.
How we help?
Our primary goal is to meet the needs of those who turn to us for support. We offer psychological assistance through individual support discussions, group meetings led by volunteer professionals, and peer support groups. We help clients find the form of support that best suits their needs. If additional expertise from other entities is required, we guide our clients to the appropriate services.
With us, no one has to face difficult situations alone!
Vision
The primary mission of Fenix Finland is to promote the mental health and well-being of immigrants and provide support to those in difficult life circumstances in their emotional language.
Mission
We strive to enhance the well-being of immigrants living in Finland and support those currently in vulnerable positions. We offer diverse forms of support, with a core focus on helping immigrants regain their inner resources and find ways to overcome challenging life situations.
The Organization's Journey
Fenix Finland ry was founded in 2022, shortly after the full-scale war in Ukraine began. During 2022–2023, our efforts were focused on providing psychological support to those fleeing the war and helping them adapt to a new country.
From 2024 to 2026, our operations are expanding under the Hyvinvoiva mieli project, funded by STEA. This project focuses on offering psychosocial support to Ukrainian and Russian-speaking individuals living in Finland who are experiencing challenging life situations. By providing support in the emotional language of immigrants, we aim to improve their mental well-being and ease their adaptation to a new environment.
Hyvinvoiva Mieli Project
The Hyvinvoiva Mieli project focuses on supporting the mental health of Ukrainian and Russian speakers facing challenging life situations and providing them with information about available social services in Finland. The project ensures access to low-threshold psychosocial assistance offered in their emotionally instinctive language while emphasizing cultural sensitivity.
The project is implemented on a national level and includes personalized psychosocial support, guidance, peer support, and group activities. It is carried out by volunteer experts, whom Fenix Finland comprehensively supports in their work, helping them maintain the resources needed for their tasks.
The project is funded by STEA (Funding Centre for Social Welfare and Health Organisations) for the years 2024–2026.
